humans have a natural proclivity towards making connections. most if not all things that exist in societies past, present and future are founded on connections.

affection produces connections; hatred produces connections; and as oxymoronic as it would sound the act and sensation of avoidance creates myriad connections of its own. nothing, nobody, no-one escapes the tangle of cables that form from these fundamental forces.

it helps that these cables that tie us down like tents and string us up like hunks up meat are what gives us gravity. now gravity isn’t just what sir isaac newton theorized all those centuries ago. no. that remains true in this reality, but, no. in this city, this sort of “gravity” produced by karmic ties can only be defined as “the weight of a human soul.”

“what an odd little definition,” you might think. i very much thought the same long ago. a particular source which deals with the concept of the weight of a human soul are the theories of the ancient egyptians.

—the goddess ma’at had seven principles. truth, justice, harmony, balance, order, reciprocity, propriety. live a kind life, live a just life. to go against this order makes your soul heavier. to be light enough that you can be carried away by the winds of a good life.

perhaps modernity—perhaps the very desire to make connections, is inherently evil, because humans are heterotrophic organic lifeforms, and those things are sadly finite, unfortunately burdened by physical limitations… true selflessness is a pipe dream.

but enough talk. enough explanation. i have digressed enough… it’s about time that i show you the ways humans have created connections, of wickedness and beauty alike.
